Brenda Stewart

business development manager | Michigan Economic Development Corporation

When it comes to hospitality, she’s ready to rock.

When the sunshine warms up Southwest Michigan’s sky and lakes each summer, Brenda Stewart and her family are out the door and on the road to hit one of the region’s many campgrounds. Tent or camper, Brenda’s game for it all! But make no mistake: Brenda loves a rustic campsite as much as a trendy coffee shop. In fact, she was once the manager of a Starbucks store in Seattle. It’s no wonder that hospitality is her specialty, from pouring a latte to serving up s’mores to showing companies around Southwest Michigan.

Brenda collaborates with Southwest Michigan First to grow jobs in her role with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). She’s excited to welcome companies in as they make Southwest Michigan their home, and has the know-how to make the transition and growth as smooth as possible.

Originally from Holland, Michigan, Brenda thoroughly enjoys the diversity of seasons and abundant activities in Southwest Michigan, whether it’s visiting Gull Meadow Farms, enjoying the snow or, of course, hitting a campground. When life’s in full swing, you’ll also find Brenda and her husband cheering on their kids in softball and competitive swim, or taking a trip to Disney.

“When you’re surrounded by people who share a passionate commitment around a common purpose, anything is possible.”
– Howard Schultz
