Ready. Set. Always a pacesetter. Go!
Sarah Weishaar loves to lace up a pair of athletic shoes and hit the pavement whenever she gets the chance. Whether outdoors, or in the boardroom, she is always sprinting. Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and later a master’s in philanthropic studies and nonprofit management from Indiana University’s School of Philanthropy. She has since hit the ground running attracting transformative investment in powerful missions around the globe.
Sarah’s extensive experience energizing non-profits includes driving engagement, investment and strategy optimization. Her track record of success has propelled multiple missions forward in the realms of healthcare, education and most recently that of an international NGO (non-governmental organization) affording vulnerable youth in Tanzania the opportunity to thrive. Now, she has hit her stride at Southwest Michigan First where her insights bring strength to the ways in which the organization engages others and attracts investment to maximize community impact. Since her energy is fueled by helping make the world a better place for everyone, Sarah’s work with Southwest Michigan First is the perfect power boost to keep her running far.
When she finally has a chance to catch her breath, Sarah cherishes each moment she spends with her husband, Matt, and their three young daughters. Whether taking a walk to a nearby park, dining in a favorite restaurant, traveling to sunny destinations or heading out on an impromptu adventure around town, Sarah savors quality time, life and laughter together.
“There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.”
