She’s got her role all sewed up.
Rachael Tiesenga is definitely not one to let the small details needle her: She has them all sewed up! Yes, after making her acquaintance, you’ll readily notice both her calm demeanor and fashion-savvy apparel—both honed during time well spent in the fastidious hobbies of embroidery and knitting. As someone who enjoys long hours dedicated to turning a ball of yarn into a custom scarf, Rachael is able to easily pattern a hectic schedule into a strategic plan during the work day.
These skills will certainly come in handy as Rachael executes her role in support of the management team at Southwest Michigan First. Here, Rachael’s daily focus requires her to pinpoint the location of leadership on multiple calendars, juggle customer needs and complete detailed reports.
Rachael is a born and raised Michigander and a graduate of the University of Michigan who majored in Biopsychology Cognition Neuroscience and minored in Medical Anthropology. On the weekends, you’ll often find her weaving through the Michigan landscape with her husband, Michael, engaged in any number of outdoor sports like frisbee, sand volleyball, and hiking. And, as someone who grew up with two older brothers, she’s game for throwing a football around too. We’ve been told that she can definitely thread the needle and expertly complete a pass to someone waiting up field!
“There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.”
– C. S. Lewis
