The phone company’s biggest client.
It’s no secret that Damon Allison’s superpower is his ability to coach. Through his knack for building relationships, he’s able to bring up stars, whether it’s through running basketball drills with his kids or providing Southwest Michigan companies with resources to grow. His philosophy is this: “While you must run your team through tough rebounding drills and defenses over and over again, a winning team will, first and foremost, grow great relationships. Only then will the scoring and winning ultimately take care of itself!”
Damon’s previous work as a teacher in the Kalamazoo Public Schools system has afforded him experience coaching all ages, from elementary students to existing teachers. Today, Damon is focused on accelerating businesses in our community as an integral part of the Southwest Michigan First Chamber and Jobs Team. Damon is committed to helping businesses problem solve, grow jobs and build relationships, with a focus on supporting regional small businesses and the city of Three Rivers.
Damon and his wife, Chelsea, stay in shape by keeping up with their four young children and their many sports activities. In the summer, the Allisons spend their weekends on the beach at their family cottage in South Haven, Michigan – which they completely renovated from a fixer-upper to a beautiful vacation destination. Off the court, Damon also loves to grill out and play a competitive game of euchre.
“Don’t measure yourself by what you have accomplished, but by what you should have accomplished with your ability.”
– John Wooden
