On time. On task. On target.
In order to be a competitive gymnast, you have to be one tough cookie. Speed, strength and a fearless attitude are musts. The ability to do a back flip takes intense concentration and careful attention to detail. Possessing all those skills, Heather Burnett spent many years training to walk the balance beam and fly on the uneven bars as a competitive gymnast.
Heather, a graduate of Western Michigan University, uses skills perfected in those long hours at the gym to serve on the accounting and HR teams at Southwest Michigan First. Heather’s precision, attention to detail and sense of balance keep our organization healthy, rooted in her understanding that small things have the power to keep us on target.
After scoring a perfect 10.0 at the office, Heather loves spending time with her husband Ryan. Taking her dog Gavin for walks, swimming in one of Southwest Michigan’s many lakes or trying a new recipe are also on Heather’s list of favorites.
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will spend its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
