| Brief Description of Internship: |
| This is an internship in the R&D division of Stryker Medical and will involve design, development, testing, and refinement of components and sub-systems in either electrical or mechanical engineering. |

| Responsibilities: |
| Responsible for design, development, testing, and refinement of components and sub-systems in either electrical or mechanical engineering. Under supervision, performs work that is varied and that may be somewhat difficult in character, but usually involves limited responsibility. |

| Required Experience: |
| 1. Knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of practial field of specialization. 2. Work is closely supervised and specific direction provided by more experienced staff. 3. Design, develops, tests and refines components and sub-systems. 4. Develops and follows the Invent It, Make It, Sell it process. |

| Engineering major, some design experience. GPA minimum of 2.8 (3.0 strongly preferred). |

Candidate must be entering their Junior, Senior or graduate level in the fall of 2010.
Candidate must be a full time student for the 2010/2011 school year either as an undergrad or graduate level student.
Job demands include prolonged sitting, may need to stoop, bend and stand as appropriate. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot. Meets cognitive demands to include visual discrimination/memory, auditory discrimination/memory reading ability, independent decision makeing and retention of specific knowledge. Requires use of safety glasses in designated areas.
