Eaton

Breakthrough Performance through Community Participation
Eaton is the world-wide leader in diversified power management. So when you feel the need for speed, count on its products to help the automotive, aerospace, electrical, hydraulics and truck industries go faster and more efficiently.

At its truck group headquarters in Galesburg, Eaton’s 700 employees supply the trucking industry with products designed to improve vehicle performance and power, while increasing profitability for its customers such as the Coca-Cola Company.

Like most Southwest Michigan companies, Eaton realizes real power rests in its community. Partnering with Western Michigan University’s College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Eaton’s Center for Advanced Vehicle Design and Simulation is available to the more than 2,600 engineering students pursuing degrees to provide breakthrough applied computer simulation technology and knowledge to the vehicle industry. Southwest Michigan First regularly works with companies like Eaton to develop company training and tech transfer programs to benefit both the company, higher education and the future workforce.

Driving Opportunity Home
Eaton’s participation in Southwest Michigan First’s Monroe-Brown Internship Program delivers outstanding hands-on opportunities to university students, like 2011 intern Nathan Werme, to learn more about future careers in engineering.
