William U. Parfet
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, MPI Research 

William U. Parfet has served since May 1999 as chairman and chief executive officer of MPI Research, a pre-clinical toxicology research laboratory located in Mattawan, Michigan.
 

Previously, he was formerly employed with Richard-Allan Medical, a worldwide manufacturer of surgical products, in Richland, Michigan. There, he served as president and chief executive officer from October 1993 to January 1996. Prior to that, he served as vice chairman of the board of The Upjohn Company and was president (1991-1993) and executive vice president (1989-1991).
 

William serves on various other boards including Monsanto Company, Parexel International Corporation, Stryker Corporation and Flint Ink Corporation. He has served as trustee for the Financial Accounting Foundation, the group that oversees the Financial Accounting Standards Board, and was a member of the Emerging Issues Task Force. He also served as the past national chairman of the Financial Executives Institute and commissioner for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
 

He received his bachelor's degree, with honors, in 1970 from Lake Forest College with a major in Economics and his MBA from the University of Michigan in 1972 in International Finance.
