John W. Brown

John W. Brown started his career as an engineer for aluminum manufacturer Ormet Corp. before joining Thiokol Chemical Corp. where he dealt with rocket propellants. In 1965, he was employed at Squibb Corp. in various management positions, including being assistant to the president.

John was promoted to president of Edward Weck & Co., a subsidiary of Squibb Corp. in 1972. After 5 years, he then joined Stryker Corporation as president and chief executive officer, and was appointed as chairman of the board in 1980.

He is director of Lunar Corp. Madison, Wisconsin and Arthur D. Little, Inc., Cambridge, Massachusetts.
